These terms govern your use of the Hitomoji iOS app. By downloading or using the app you agree to them.
The product
Hitomoji is a paid course of Japanese characters delivered on your lock screen and home screen widgets, with a today card and archive inside the app. There is no free tier. Onboarding and one preview card are the only content shown before purchase.
Purchases
All payments are processed by Apple. Annual and monthly subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Lifetime is a one-time purchase. Manage or cancel in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. Restore Purchases is available on the paywall.
Progress
Your place in the course is stored on your device and may be mirrored to your iCloud key-value store. Uninstalling without iCloud signed in may lose progress.
Acceptable use
Do not reverse-engineer the app to extract licensed dictionary data for redistribution. Third-party language data included in the app remains under its own licence; see Settings → Data Sources. Original card prose is © Hitomoji.
Disclaimer
The app is provided as-is. We do not warrant uninterrupted widget updates (those depend on iOS) or that studying with Hitomoji will produce any particular exam result.
